HRM Rewarding Management for Google Inc- myassignmenthelp.com
Question: Discuss about theHRM Rewarding Management for Google Inc. Answer: Introduction Reward strategy plays the most significant role in the organization as it is associated with providing benefits to the staff members so that they can efficiently carry out business operations in best possible manner. Further, reward strategy varies from one company other another and in turn it is necessary for every business to design reward strategy keeping in view actual expectations of its workforce(Hendry 2012). It has been found that through reward system company tries to convey some message to its employees like the value of its workforce or any other specific message. The present study carried out is based on Google Inc. Which is an American multinational technology firm that specializes in internet related products and services(Inc 2017). The company employs more than 57,100 employees and carries out operations worldwide. The present research focuses on analyzing the reward strategy of Google Inc in order to know its effectiveness. Main Body The key reward choices Different type of reward strategies has been undertaken by Google Inc where the main purpose behind the same is to retain its workforce and motivating them in best possible manner. Further, the company has adopted the mixture of both monetary and nonmonetary benefits that are provided to the employees. In the form of different reward, benefits are provided to the employees that involve healthcare such as medical insurance, HMO healthcare premiums are 100% paid for the staff, dental insurance, and vision insurance. In terms of holidays 10 paid holidays, sick days(Google 2004). Income protection plan involves short-term disability insurance, voluntary life insurance, group life insurance. Apart from this other form of general benefits are also delivered to the employees such as gym where Google reimburse $20 per month for any gym membership that its employees hold. Maternity leave where 12 weeks off is given at 75% pay, employee referral program where Google awards $2000 bonus if referral accepts the offer of the company(Google 2004). Moreover, some other additional benefits are provided to the workforce such as tuition reimbursement where company reimburses college expense in case if any employee is pursuing higher course or degree. So, this provides the detailed description of the reward choices that are given by Google Inc to its valuable employees. It is directly representing that company provides full assistance to its workforce through which their motivation level is enhanced in best possible manner. Reward practices of Google Inc focus on different areas such as health and safety where proper insurance facilities are delivered to employees, education benefit in the form of tuition reimbursement. So, with the help of this, it can be clearly stated that the reward choice provided by the company are highly effective and this, in turn, provi des the competitive edge to the business in every possible manner(Wei, Frankwick Nguyen 2012). This is the main reason due to which Google is easily able to retain its employees for the longer period of time. Message conveyed by the reward system of the selected organization By designing different type of effective reward strategies, the main message that company communicates to its employee is linked to the value of workforce where Google highlights that its workforce is highly valuable for the company. Further, the organization believes in retaining the present talent instead of hiring the new employees and in turn they are the real asset of the business(Walker 2012). Another message that business conveys with this type of reward program is employee motivation where the company believes in motivating its workforce so that they can efficiently carry out operations of the firm in the proper manner. All these messages positively influence the performance of Google Inc. in the market has acted as the development tool for the company. No doubt Google Inc carries out all its operations on the wider basis, and due to this reason, it is necessary for the business to design effective reward strategy so that it may enhance its future performance. The key business that company wants to communicate with this reward system is that no other company is able to design such type of reward practices in the industry(Ulrich 2013). Google is associated with the practices of innovation and in order to involve each and every employee in such type of innovative activities company has design reward system through which monetary benefits are delivered to its valuable workforce. So, this directly allows managing workforce in the appropriate manner and in turn acts as the development tool for the company in every possible manner. Extent to which extent does the reward strategy in the organization drive individual performance In the modern era, the overall productivity and performance of staff members are directly affected by the kind of reward system adopted by the organization. Thus, the management of companies is responsible for ensuring that a transparent, effective and satisfactory system of reward is encouraged within the enterprise(Snelgar, Renard Venter 2013). In the context of Google, it can be asserted that positive reinforcement is one of the fundamental techniques which the organization is using to strengthen the performance of people working in the organization. The reward strategy of Google emphasizes on offering both monetary and non-monetary rewards to employees against the performance delivered by them. The key benefit of this strategy is that it creates a sense of satisfaction among workers and at the same time, it encourages workers to give their best towards the success of Google. Nowadays, every employee seeks for the opportunity to become the integrated part of the organization(Mowday, Porter Steers 2013). The reward system implemented by Google provides workers with the most potential platform to deliver satisfactory performance and become an integral part of the brand. On the other side of this, the workers of Google are highly motivated and can deliver more effective performance because the organization is also taking care of their health and well being. The statement can be justified by the example of free meals and breakfast provided by Google. The company emphasizes more on offering organic and healthy food to employees. The strategy acts as a motivational force and results in enhancing the overall performance and productivity of all the staff members. In addition to this, Google also offers additional benefits and services to employees at regular intervals(Jiang et al. 2012). It includes facilities such as free health checkups, haircuts, free dry cleaning, swimming pool facilities, videos games, etc. These services and facilities are the clear examples of the effectiveness of Googles reward strategy. Furthermore, employees always look forward to delivering efficient and satisfactory performance with an objective to achieve different monetary and non-monetary rewards and facilities offered by the brand(Bratton Gold 2012). On the other hand, it can be critically argued that there are specific issues with the existing reward system adapted by Google and the impact of this can be directly seen on the performance of the employee. The critical issue with Googles reward system is that the management does not offer attractive monetary rewards and remuneration during the promotion of staff members(Hendry 2012). Most of the time, it develops high degree of dissatisfaction among workers and restricts them to deliver effective and satisfactory performance towards the accomplishment of organizations aim and objectives. Ways to improve the reward system Over the past few decades, Google has been emerged one of the best companies to work with, and its system of reward has contributed a lot in the same. However, it can be stated that there are specific issues in existing reward system and the company is required to take corrective measures to overcome these problems. It can be recommended that Google should offer attractive incentives and increase in pay even during the promotion of an employee(Cummings Worley 2014). The benefit of this is that it will help in developing a high degree of satisfaction among workers and give best of their performance toward the success of Google. It is also suggested that Google should emphasize on reducing the leniency provided to all staff members. The reason behind this is that at present the company is providing complete freedom and flexibility to all its workers without any differentiating between the senior and junior level of employees. Now, some of the employees have started making wrong use of the freedom offered to them as they are using various facilities provided by Google without delivering required and satisfactory efforts(Chen, Williamson Zhou 2012). Such kind of situation can create obstacles in long-term growth and success of the selected business enterprise. The management is required to become a little bit strict regarding offering facilities, freedom, and flexibility to employees. Conclusion From the above-conducted study, it can be concluded that the reward system and employee performance have a direct relationship with each other. Furthermore, Google has been able to enhance the overall performance and productivity of employees by offering them satisfactory monetary and non-monetary rearwards. It can be also inferred that the selected business enterprise is operating with one of the best reward systems in the industry and it has supported in enhancing the overall degree of employee satisfaction and motivation. However, the company is required to take corrective measures to overcome some issues in its existing reward system. Stem Cells Research Paper
Stem Cells Research PaperIn this article, we will look at the role of stem cells in the ultimate goal of all stem cell research. Stem cells are basically those cells which have not been differentiated into any of the more specialized types of cells. They play a vital role in the overall development of the body. After their differentiation, they may be transplanted into the body for treatment of various maladies.A good example of a serious disease where the body is unable to fight itself off is Alzheimer's disease. There are certain medications that can slow down the progress of the disease but these medications only treat the symptoms of the disease. It does not allow the body to repair the damaged cells or take out the damaged tissues. The most prominent and important stem cell is the bone marrow, as it is the main stem cell of the body. Once the body is able to make good use of the blood stem cells, it becomes more functional and generates new healthy cells. The process of generating the blood stem cells begins at the embryonic stage of development. The blood stem cells, which are then transformed into many different types of cells such as plasma cells and platelets will start to differentiate from one another. These new cells that are developed from the blood stem cells to become the most powerful blood cells. Thus, in the initial stages of development, the blood stem cells are formed with such a composition that they are capable of giving life to cells in the body.Once the blood stem cells have produced the basic cells, they are capable of generating various tissues, organs. For example, the red blood cells are produced in the bone marrow in order to provide blood to the body. The white blood cells are produced in the bone marrow and are responsible for the immediate response to an infection or a foreign body. When the body begins to produce insulin or human growth hormone, the bone marrow will begin to manufacture the functional red blood cells. Once the stem cells have produced the hemoglobin, the red blood cells undergo a switch to give the white blood cells. This allows the red blood cells to carry oxygen to the body at a faster rate, which helps the body to function well.In this stem cells research paper, we were able to look at the role of the stem cells in the overall function of the body. Mr.Rodgers Essays - Fred Rogers, Mister Rogers, Fred Rogers
He basically saved public television. In 1969 the government wanted to cut public television funds. Mister Rogers then went to Washington where he gave an amazing merely six minute speech. By the end of the speech not only did he charm the hostile Senators, he got them to double the budget they would have initially cut down. The whole thing can be found on youtube, a video called ?Mister Rogers defending PBS to the US Senate.? ?Certain fundamentalist preachers hated him because, apparently not getting the ?kindest man who ever lived? memo, they would ask him to denounce homosexuals. Mr. Rogers?s response? He?d pat the target on the shoulder and say, ?God loves you just as you are.? Rogers even belonged to a ?More Light? congregation in Pittsburgh, a part of the Presbyterian Church dedicated to welcoming LGBT persons to full participation in the church.? According to a TV Guide piece on him, Fred Rogers drove a plain old Impala for years. One day, however, the car was stolen from the street near the TV station. When Rogers filed a police report, the story was picked up by every newspaper, radio and media outlet around town. Amazingly, within 48 hours the car was left in the exact spot where it was taken from, with an apology on the dashboard. It read, ?If we?d known it was yours, we never would have taken it.? Once, on a fancy trip up to a PBS exec?s house, he heard the limo driver was going to wait outside for 2 hours, so he insisted the driver come in and join them (which flustered the host). On the way back, Rogers sat up front, and when he learned that they were passing the driver?s home on the way, he asked if they could stop in to meet his family. According to the driver, it was one of the best nights of his life?the house supposedly lit up when Rogers arrived, and he played jazz piano and bantered with them late into the night. Further, like with the reporters, Rogers sent him notes and kept in touch with the driver for the rest of his life.

Project Management on World Trade Organization ministerial Conference of 2005 The WritePass Journal
Project Management on World Trade Organization ministerial Conference of 2005 Executive Summary Project Management on World Trade Organization ministerial Conference of 2005 ). High Power, Low Interest Hong Kong as one of the key members of the WTO was the host to the fifth ministerial conferenceà in the year 2005. Though being a key member, Hong Kong has not shown much interest in the activities of the WTO and has not taken any proactive steps in issue resolution of the ongoing issues of the WTO. Be it agriculture or environmental issues,Hong Kong remains to be a silent spectator in most cases which clearly indicates the lack of interest in influencing the member states or steering them to decision making on specific issues (BBC, 2013). Low Power, High Interest The farmers and the agriculture community worldwide have high interest in the activities of the WTO as the trade agreements that are negotiated and agreed upon have a serious bearing on their livelihood and concerns. There is a growing concern relating to fairer trade markets, food security and farming subsidies. Though there is a lot of interest shown by the farming community, they do not have the power to speak and hence do not have the influencing capability. The increase in the suicide rates of farmers is also attributed to the failure of WTO to understand their concerns and the lack of transparency and inequality in dealings of the WTO (Long, 2007; Shiva, 2014). Researchers also suggest that there is a lack of understanding from the WTO committee members on the needs of the farmers and the decisions made are not in line with their demands (Anderson and Martin, 2005). Low Power, Low Interest The last type of stakeholders have the least power and are also not very much interested in the activities of the WTO.à The citizens of Hong Kong for example, belong to this stakeholder group. Given that the multilateral agreements are huge and complex, the authorities do not have the capacity and capability to scrutinise the details of all contracts. Also, the authorities of a country are not held accountable for the negotiations and agreements signed. This makes them lose interest given that they neither have the power nor the capacity to influence the decision making. Also there are restrictions that prohibit them from questioning the authority (Keohane and Nye, 2001; Scharpf, 2000). Stakeholder Management Stakeholder management is essential for the smooth communication and functioning of an organisation and also to ensure that the objectives of the organisation are achieved. Stakeholder management should be in line with the strategic management objectives of the organisation and the type of the stakeholder that needs to be satisfied should be taken into account depending on the organisation type in order to ensure that these expectations are met. It is essential to first identify the various stakeholders, their role in the organisation, the decision making authority they have in the organisation and how much their ideas or ideals would affect the success of the organisation. Once these are identified, it is essential to develop a stakeholder management strategy that is aimed at not only satisfying these stakeholders but also helps achieve the overall objective of the organisation (Freeman, 2001). In a multicultural organisation or where the organisation is huge and spans across different continents and cultures, the stakeholder management strategy becomes inevitable. It defines the communication methods and helps understanding the doââ¬â¢s and donââ¬â¢ts in each geographic location. It also helps achieve transparency in operations and facilitates better participation of the stakeholders in the decision making process. Stronger business decisions that are sustainable, long term and ethical are facilitated by a good stakeholder management approach (Carroll and Buchholtz, 2014). Communication Management Researchers believe that not all stakeholders of an organisation have equal importance. For example, in a non-governmental organisation which is aimed at helping people, the pubic might be the key stakeholder as opposed to a business organisation which aims at satisfying the primary needs of the shareholders. Hence, in a diverse world where the needs of the organisations differ, it is essential to understand the primary stakeholders who needs to be satisfied and devise a communication management plan to ensure that the communication to these stakeholders are made in near real-time and in an effective manner (Podnar and Jancic, 2006; Jacobson et al, 2009). Tuckmanââ¬â¢s Communication Model Bruce Tuckman devised a five step communication model in the year 1975. These five steps includes: Forming Storming Norming Performing and Adjourning Forming: This is where the leader gives the guidance to the team and the initial stage in the communication process. This is a stage where the roles and responsibilities are unclear Storming: Brainstorming activities take place, compromises happen, clarity increases and the team members get a basic understanding of what is required of them Norming: The team members agree by consensus. The leader facilitates the decision making but the team members are now in a position to agree. The roles and responsibilities defined by the leader in the forming stage are now very clear and evident. Performing: The team members are strategically aware and are able to execute their responsibilities and perform better in order to achieve the goals. They work on their own and there is very little interference from the leader. The leader is called for when there is guidance required both in terms of personal and interpersonal development Adjourning: Also known as Deforming or Mourning, refers to the breaking up of the group after the successful completion of the task. This stage involves identification of good performers, the well-being of the team and also measuring the performance. (Tuckman, 1977) Conclusion This report gave a brief about the role of the project manager in the HK 2005 WTO ministerial conference and the various stakeholders, the level of interest and the power to influence the decision making of the WTO. Furthermore, this report also discussed effective stakeholder management techniques and methods, communication strategy in relation to the WTO.
